How can I assign functions to the hard keys "left" and "right" in a macro (I have a Pronto RU940)? Right now all "left" keys in macros have the label "Open". Where does it come from?
I just don't get it...
Thanks for help!

don't know about tonto, but i would guess it's something similar to how it's done in pronto edit:

open your ccf >
expand HOME >
doubleclick system properties >
select the Hard Keys tab >
click on the representation of the desired Hard Key.

this will set the global properties for the Hard Keys. any Hard Keys changed in Device Properties (per device) will override that Hard Key for that device only, all Hard Keys in other devices will remain set to the Global parameters unless changed within that devices Properties, as well.

suggest you spend some quality time with the faqs.

I use a Marantz so I may be wrong about this 'cuz Marantz's are different. On the macro side, I don't believe you can change the right/left hard key functions. I don't think there's any tab for the right and left buttons in macro group properties for you to create an action list. It was designed that way to facilitate programming on the remote itself as opposed to using the software.

you can not edit the hard buttons on the macro side. It has to do with how the Pronto was originally designed

You are all correct. I'm just glad I bought the Marantz. On the Marantz, the buttons are free-form.

Thanks for the input.
But one of my questions still is open.
Why is there a label "OPEN" on my left hard button in all my macros? Maybe a stupid question, but did I put it there (not that I would know where to start) or where does it come from?
As for the rest, best I redesign my CCF so I can use the H-buttons.One hell of a lot of devices...
Also (not related to this issue, but still important) thanks to Dale Crawford who came up with his superb Easy Theater.

OK, I found my answers in the forum. I have no idea where I was looking for this info before...(probably blind after fighting with a non-functioning emulation for hours...) Thanks for the responses anyway!
Guess I can't use the hard keys L+R to switch between Device and Macro in order to simulate a "back" button. Just as I thought it was such a neat solution....
